0:04.1	jaunt through the Bible looking at this, the clothes makeeth the man theme. And we're seeing this
0:10.3	theme, this motif, really take shape and crystallize as we move from deep in the early part of
0:16.1	the Old Testament to the end of the New Testament that we're going to get to today. So here's a little bit of
0:22.8	intro music for you, and we're going to pick up where we left off yesterday.
0:42.7	Maybe now you're thinking, that's a lot of Paul, though. All those things you just read is the same guy. Are we sure that this theme runs through the rest of the New Testament apart from Paul? Oh,
0:46.8	you can tell by the way I set it up that, yes, I am sure. First Peter, 5, 5, young men in the same way, Be submissive to those who are older. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another because God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. How interesting that that's the verse right there. We're talking about clothing ourselves in these robes of the righteousness of God provided by God.
1:12.1	And then there's that verse.
1:13.0	It's like God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.
1:15.4	The robes are grace.
1:17.0	The ability to clothe ourselves in this is a gift from God.
1:21.2	The robes are his.
1:23.1	We didn't make them.
1:24.2	And finally, our journey through the Bible with his clothes maketh the man
1:28.2	being robed in the righteousness of God theme. Finally, we land in Revelation, which is so much
1:34.7	more than just predictions about the end times, by the way. This is the Summa Theologica of the
1:39.3	Bible. It's the end of theology, the completion of all of the arcs, the payoff for everything, the end of
1:45.5	history as we think of history, and the vision for that, clearly pronounced in the book of Revelation
1:51.0	includes God's people clothed in his righteousness in a very tangible, observable way.
1:58.1	So let's look at Revelation 3.5. This is Jesus talking to the Christians in the
2:04.2	Church of Sardis. It says, yet you have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes.
2:09.7	They will walk with me, dressed in white, for they are worthy. He who overcomes will like them
