The House Ethics Committee has released its long-awaited report on former Representative Matt Gates' potential misconduct while in office.

It found evidence that the Florida Republican paid tens of thousands of dollars to women for drugs or sex on at least 20 occasions, including with a 17-year-old girl.

Here's CNN's Caitlin Polance.

She told the committee with testimony that she had sex with Matt Gates, then a sitting member of Congress, twice during a party in July of 2017, including

at least once in the presence of other party attendees.

She recalled receiving $400 in cash from Matt Gates, which she understood to be payment

for sex, and she had just completed her junior year of high school. Gates has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing.

Earlier today, he filed a lawsuit asking a federal judge to stop the report from coming out,

saying it would damage his reputation and that he wasn't notified of the panel's plans to release it.

CNN has reached out to Gates and his lawyers for comment.

The House Ethics Committee declined to comment on the lawsuit.

The man accused of killing United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson has pleaded not guilty to state

murder and terror charges.

The indictment shows Luigi Mangione faces 11 counts in New York, including a first-degree

murder charge and two second-degree murder charges. The 26-year-old also faces four federal

charges, including murder through use of a firearm. Today's hearing drew protesters outside

the courthouse, with signs that read, quote, people over profit.

In court, Mangione's lawyer says she's concerned about her client's ability to get a fair trial.

He's a young man and he is being treated like a human ping pong ball between two warring jurisdictions here.

And they are literally treating him like he is like some sort of political

fodder, like some sort of spectacle.
