Did you experience any effects of the government shutdown today?

Except in your reporting.

Not, yeah, no, in my day-to-day life, I didn't.

Although when I was coming back from the airport, I saw all, or going to the airport, I guess, yesterday.

All of the people who normally go to Graly point to watch the airplane's land had to

sort of park in the street because there was no parking. That's so weird. All right, well,

let's start quickly, as ever, with the rundown of the day's news on the shutdown. First, House Speaker

John Boehner is denying Democratic claims that there are enough Republican votes in the House to pass a clean budget continuing resolution. President Obama today called out Banner

during an appearance at FEMA saying there are enough votes. If Republicans and Speaker Banner

are saying there are not enough votes, then they should prove it. Let the bill go to the floor

and let's see what happens. Just vote. Let every member of Congress vote their conscience, and they can determine whether or not they

want to shut the government down.

My suspicion is, my very strong suspicion, is that there are enough votes there.

And the reason that Speaker Bainer hasn't called a vote on it is because he doesn't apparently want to see the government

shutdown end at the moment unless he's able to extract concessions that don't have anything to do with the

budget. Then Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid also went after Bainer today, saying the speaker has a
