Tonight, a very special episode of STS in collaboration with the jury duty podcast.

The host, Lindsay Gandy and Kimberly Bell are here, again,

to collaborate on this special evening. It is a tough story to talk about. It's hard for me to

believe that STS wasn't even in the true crime space when this happened

because it seems like it all went down yesterday, but it's been several years.

For those who have been living under Iraq or perhaps are overseas, Gabby Petito was a 22-year-old

aspiring travel blogger whose disappearance in this summer of 2021

captivated national attention. She'd been on this cross-country trip as a travel blogger

with her fiance, Brian Laundry. They were documenting their travels on social media. However, their seemingly idyllic journey took a very dark turn when Gabby was reported missing after Brian returned home to Northport, Florida without her.

Now, the case sparked widespread media coverage fueled fueled by body cam footage, showing a very tense encounter between the couple and police in Utah.

Very tragically, Gabby's remains were later found in Wyoming. Her death ruled a homicide.

Brian Laundry, of course, named the prime suspect. And after a

nationwide manhunt in following month in September, he is found self-unaligned from a gunshot wound

to the head. He left behind a note in his notebook admitting and confessing to killing Gabby.
