Hey, so I was having a conversation with an artist in Growth Studio about our ability to hold space in our present practice for who we will become later, for our future

self.

And this is such a beautiful concept, I wanted to share it with you.

When you are doing the work, showing up in your studio today and challenging yourself to paint from the heart,

to paint what you truly believe in and then show other people how you see the world,

you are becoming your future self.

You are becoming that artist who continually pushes the boundaries of what is

possible with the skills and vision and consistent effort, the miles of canvas you have covered with your curiosity and

sensitivity to color and line and shape. You are becoming the artist who loves the work enough to do the hard work of pursuing

excellence without conflating it with the myth of perfection.

This is what I love about Growth Studio members.

They are tenacious and determined.

They are relentless in doing the work

to live into the vision of their future selves.

And it's not always easy, but it is a worthy goal.

So I wanted to share it with all of you.

It's something that we work on a lot

and it takes some time to really grasp this concept.

You have to be willing to hold space for what will be and what is now. It's definitely not for the faint of heart. So let's break this down.

What we consistently do day in and day out is what creates excellence. It is our habits, our processes, the things that we do in the studio that create our results.

So all of the small steps that we take to learn color, to become better a composition, to become fluent in the language of brush strokes.
