Do you ever play, though, what if game, peering into the imagined future and anticipating

an outcome?

It's often called future tripping, and it's a natural part of the human condition.

But sometimes, when things do not go as planned, future tripping can quickly lead to anxious

thoughts that become debilitating.

So the theme of this meditation from Matthew 6 is overcoming anxiety by avoiding future

tripping, learning to live in the present moment in the presence of a very present God.

So to begin your meditation, slip into a time and a place where you can feel grounded

and centered.

Consent to let the Lord be on display with you here in this moment.

Start by listening and responding to this prayer from Matthew 6, responding, Heavenly

Father, you are my comfort.

Therefore, I tell you, stop being worried or anxious.

For Heavenly Father, you are my comfort.

Don't be perpetually uneasy, distracted about your life as to what you will eat or what

you will drink.
