All right, Max, congressional leaders play a key role in shaping the U.S. defense capabilities from providing crucial funding and setting policy priorities to conducting intelligence briefings and hearings. For the past two weeks, I've been

talking to Andrew Desiderio about the state of play, the legislative landscape. Defense funding

is one of the few remaining major bipartisan issues on Capitol Hill, with large major

in both parties

supporting the National Defense Authorization Act each year. You sat down with Representative Austin Scott,

a Republican from Georgia who sits on the House Armed Services Committee. Tell us a little bit

about Representative Scott for those in our listeners who don't know him and his role in this space.

Sure, happy to. I think what makes Austin Scott a really interesting member to profile here is his district's role in producing the new fleet.

So he has Moody's Air Force Base in Georgia in district, and there the headquarters for the new F-35
