We're now entering day two of the government shutdown, and there's no sign of a breakthrough

anytime soon.

The White House is threatening federal layoffs, which some are calling Doge 2.0.

And it's a message Vice President J.D. Vance conveyed again yesterday.

We are going to have to lay some people off if the shutdown continues.

We don't like that. We don't necessarily want to do it. But we're going to do what we have

to to keep the American people's essential services continuing to run.

But for now, Democrats are holding firm. Here's Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.
