I'm only half teasing on that.

I got a good episode for you today.

My guest is somebody that if you've been watching me back and during the COVID days of

Meet the Press, will be a familiar face to you.

It's Dr. Michael Osterholm, who's probably, when I couldn't get somebody in the government to talk

about what was happening with the virus and, and what was necessary and what wasn't necessary.

I usually ended up having Dr. Osterholm on my program.

I always thought he was pretty blunt, always straightforward, never partisan, not an

ideologue.

And he wrote a, he's got a new book out

called The Big One, which of course led to me to my first question to him, which was, was COVID

a big one. And his answer was no. So that should make you feel really good. So I don't want to get

you all worked up and like going, oh, I can't hear it. He's going to, but actually what

you're going to love about this conversation and this book is, is that I wish we had listened

to Dr. Hostholm more. I wish the government had listened to him more. And how much smarter we

could have been about closures during COVID, you know, as he said,

it all should have been data driven. And, you know, you don't want communities to shut down unless

hospitalizations are to a point where the community can't get reliable health care,

that that is the trigger. And it was it was just such a, you're sitting there when we're having this conversation,

we're both going, how did we not do this, right?
