| 0:13.0 | Hey everybody, welcome to Fords the Narrative. |
| 0:14.8 | My name is Paul Murphy, your host. |
| 0:16.2 | This is episode 210. |
| 0:17.7 | If you're joining us on YouTube, we're going to talk about some upcoming events in our area. We're going to talk about a little bit about some of the things that are contributing to Warzone Atlanta. And we're going to talk about the list you can expect to see in these five rounds or more tournaments. I mean, as more codexes are released, we are certain to see things develop. But still, things are getting taken directly out of the index and out of the Ford World Indexes. And we're going to talk about things that we have seen and certainly things that you can expect to see. After we do this segment, we're going to come back for another segment and then come in with finishing moves, the hobby segment. I'm joined tonight by Horton Doughton. Yo. Chris Morgan and Ricky Addington. Magic Blood Cup. |
| 1:12.4 | Shadespire is great. And Andrew Whitaker. Still on a word limit. We are going to talk a little bit about Shadespire. Shadespire and Total War. We have, I mean, just kind of like a hobby infusion, you know, Warhammer addicts that we are playing all these types of games. If it says Warhammer on it, one of us is going to be playing it. |
| 1:38.2 | So we might as well talk about it. Some will play longer than others. Man, speaking of that, just of the announcement about World of Tanks, you can play a predator in World of Tanks now? Yeah, it's in development, yeah. It's in development. Ah, man, that is so exciting. This might be, this might be the gateway that gets me to actually hang out online with my coworker who is all about some world of tanks, but I refuse to get on there and play with her because I'm busy. |
| 1:50.2 | But, I mean, if I'm going to be able to, if I'm going to be able to... You know, whatever World War II era tank she's driving around in with a land raider, I'm going to do that. |
| 1:54.4 | World Tank is a really, really fun game, and the collaboration is super exciting. |
| 2:01.9 | And anytime you can kind of mash mainstream popularity with 40K, which I always forget that, like, we always think of 40K is like a really like small insular hobby with like this niche group. |
| 2:06.2 | Like, lo-key, they have 480 independent retailers worldwide. |
| 2:10.1 | Like they are a incredibly powerfully traded public company on the English Stock Exchange, |
| 2:15.9 | and there are literally hundreds of thousands of players. |
| 2:19.3 | Like, it's not that small. It's actually Warhammer is really a big deal. |
| 2:23.9 | It's huge. And it's not even just the board, the tabletop game, the miniatures game that we play. |
| 2:29.2 | I mean, I was at work one day and I'm sitting there and this guy is reading some of the horse heresy books and we get to talk about everything. I was like, so, you know, what army do you play? And he said, what do you mean? I said, well, Warhammer, what army do you play? Is it out of what do you mean? I was like the game. And he's a game? He didn't even know. He's read like, |
| 2:52.1 | he's like 10 deep into the Horsair's series. He didn't even know. That's the beauty of some of this licensing. I mean, what we're talking about is licensing this amazing intellectual property to get it out there and expose to different people to still be a part of it. The events I want to talk about coming up, though. Vendetta Games at Sondalonga, Georgia, you can find, they have a website where they sell hobby stuff. It's vendettagames.net. This weekend, the weekend, you'll be hearing this on, what, October 14th? Yeah. Something to that effect. You'll be hearing this on the 12th or 13th, but on October 14th, they will be having a three-round RTT where the winner receives a ticket to war zone Atlanta. |
| 3:31.6 | So if you're in that area or anywhere near that area and you feel like you're too deep on the wait list, but you want to come to the event, you should definitely check them out and see about winning that game. |
| 3:40.2 | We're going to have some local folks from Atlanta up there. Delanaga is not really near Atlanta, but it's worth making the trip, and I know a lot of us do. I mean, I'm planning on playing in it. It's a good 50 miles. No, you're not that far, but it's a good 45, 50 miles from Atlanta. So you're looking at an hour trip, straight up one of the main highways here. |
| 3:58.3 | It's accessible from other places too. Like Tennessee, South Carolina, it's accessible. Yeah, it's kind of a regional shop to be sure. And ultimately, like driving an hour in Atlanta is, I mean, sometimes I can go two miles and it takes me an hour because welcome to Atlanta. It's definitely going to be a fun time. Vendetta's a great venue and I know like then the guys running the event of course from the general staff who are the co-hosts of Warzone Atlanta and my gaming club. Great guys, really fun missions, they're playing the Warzone missions. It's basically a Warzone prep tournament in and of itself. The ticket, however, is it's kind of the Willy Wonka situation where you can kind of, if you go and play, you can win your way in. And that's pretty exciting. I know a buddy of mine who really, really wants to play at Warzone, but who didn't get a ticket, is sitting on the wait list right now, is driving up from Savannah. And he's like, I'm going to win my way in. Plenty of great competition. Thank you. Yeah, that's such a cool concept to give away a ticket for winning in one of those tournaments. I think it would be really cool if there were more of those in future years. I would certainly be interested in running a tournament like that. But again, just a great concept. Yeah, in the future, especially we grow the event and have more tickets available. we can do this kind of thing with more shops and more events. But the owner of the store bought a ticket and we thought it'd be |
| 5:10.4 | cool if he did it. He dealt with the ticket in this way. So that's why he has one available for that. |
| 5:15.8 | It's very cool. I'm interested to see how this comes out and people are going to travel to it. |
