Florida State's search for a transfer portal quarterback could have just taken an incredibly

surprising turn. Nick Carlyle here with our senior analyst Matt Lassaire.

Florida State and DJ Lagway, a potential marriage here in the making.

Matt, when you slid this across my desk earlier this morning saying

that Florida State and Florida transfer quarterback DJ Lagway had been in contact with one

another, I honestly could not believe you. But now not only you, but Pete Nicos are reporting

this as well as you are out in the rain down on Florida State's campus.

What is the latest here between Florida State and what I think many would consider to be

an unconventional transfer target for not only Florida State, but Florida State's offense

under Gus Malzon?

Yeah, I don't think I believed it either when I sent it to you at first or when i sent to you

that i was chasing that and had heard something and it uh yeah obviously in other developments

were able to confirm uh and report that there has been contact between florida state and

dj lagway the extent of that contact we aren't sure of yet but we know it's there and it's very interesting

i do want to say nick i was ahead of my time i did say he would be my pick i maybe i was right i was

just ahead uh but anyway it's yeah an interesting development and a fun one for sure i'm sure

the tribal council and the premium recruiting board are going nuts right now.

And it's very interesting. Now, I do think we need to still wait and see how this develops,

because I'm a firm believer that they reach out to a lot of people that it doesn't actually gain traction.

But this one, I don't know about you, Nick, but it feels a little different like there is traction there a little bit.

And the reason for this is because what's going on with their other two quarterback targets.

They are both on campus elsewhere right now.
