is set to to be launched on the site. I think it could be solid in this room this year because

you have weapons for the quarterback to use. You will have an offensive coordinator and a head coach

that are pulling in the same direction because the head coach is now calling the place, which is also good.

But Ashton Daniels is your frontrunner. There's no question that Ashton Daniels is the frontrunner for the position. He'll be afforded the opportunities. Mike Revelle spoke to that. There were quotes to that end in the offseason. The one good thing that you can say unequivocally about his time at Auburn, he got more run as the season went along, late SEC games against Fandy and Alabama.

He showed better care of the football than he did at Stanford, and he also has an idea as a passer who can run rather than a runner who you hope can be accurate in a given week as a passer.

That's what we're just coming off of.

Now what you're arriving to is, I think, a quarterback first who can run second,

but it's not afraid to run and throw his body around a little bit in Daniels.

It's kind of not a headline grabber.

But I said at the time, to your point,

Florida State may have ended up getting kind of what they needed.

They may have fallen into it, which sounds crazy.

But they were kicking around or kicking the tires at the idea of giving somebody $2 million

or $2.5 million

who didn't fit the system that Florida State wants to run at all.

And when you don't have a lot of money, I'm not trying to do that.

Let's just put it that way.

And I do think it opens the door to a legit competition, which I wanted because I thought that they had said enough

good things about Sperry that I thought he deserved at least to be involved in the competition.

Well, and that's how you break the cycle of just bringing in and portaling over players year after
