Walter E. Ellis was born on June 24, 1960 in, County, Mississippi as one of six children to Leroy and Maddie Ellis.

His nickname as a child was Woodell, and I think that was like a contraction of Walter and Ellis.

They joined millions of black Americans who left the south for economic opportunity and safety in places like Milwaukee and Chicago.

Beginning in early childhood, Walter showed signs of antisocial behavior,

neighboring children, and he had a reputation as a bully and was frequently disciplined.
