0:43.2	He grew up on Staten Island.
0:45.5	We don't know much about his early life.
0:47.8	All we could find was that his father abandoned the family

0:52.3	and he was abused by his stepfather's
0:55.1	mother's boyfriend. I'm not sure if she was actually married to him.

1:00.6	Hubert dropped out of public school for students with learning disabilities when he was 14 years old.
1:06.0	At the age of 16 he was arrested as part of a purse snatching ring.
1:11.0	In 1990 he was convicted of robbery and served two years in
1:14.8	prison in New York. So he didn't have much of an education. No.
1:19.2	He dropped out of school when he was 14. Yeah. So he didn't have a lot of opportunities. You're right. Yes.
1:25.8	After being paroled in June of 1992 when he was 27, Gerald's moved to Chicago and lived with

1:32.9	In January of 1993, he was charged with residential burglary.
1:37.4	He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to five years in prison.
