I'm Brandon Schultz.

On days three and four of training camp,

we heard from both quarterbacks involved in the competition,

but I see here that Wilson wants to hold that to the second half.

So let's first begin with defensive

coordinator Clint Hurt, who talked about his initial impressions from camp. The energy's been

really good so far. I've been impressed with the memory recall coming back off of the spring.

And the things that we've had, you know, coming on back in, has been an aggressive install

going forward. So the guys have really grasped that well

continuing on the communication and things like that that's the things i'm looking forward to

see one of the biggest things fans are looking out for is the development of the pair of inside linebackers

Jordan is definitely getting comfortable with making the calls you know obviously that was going to be

something he had to get used to uh he started off really nice in the spring and really, really has good command of it right now. Cody's done really nice. He's done some really good things. He gets mad every time I call Diamond and put Diamond in the game because he wants to be out there. But he's done really well. Both those guys compliment each other to communicate really well. They got a good relationship, so going well.

These two will have a share of the leadership responsibilities. I look at that as the shared responsibility. You don't replace people like Bobby Wagner. You don't replace people like KJ. Wright. Those are hard things to do. Obviously, we got great love, and we know with Jordan and the guys that are here where they're going, but it's impossible to replace those guys.

So a lot of times you're going to start by committee, you know, until one person is. So between quandre, you know, Jamal, Brooks, Cody, and the guys up front can handle things with Shelby and Clinton Jefferson. It's really a leadership by committee is what I would say. You know, that's how you have to try to fix those things. Darrell Taylor is coming up next, but first, let's hear Clint Hertz comments on a few other defenders, including Artie Burns. Anytime we have a coach on our staff that has background with a player that's coming from another team or even if you had them in college, you want to use all those resources because when you're bringing a guy in from outside, you want to know, like, who are they as a teammate? Who are they in the locker room, meeting room, things of that nature? So you're bringing the right guy into your organization. So we definitely want to lean on his feedback. Hurt was also excited about the return of safety Marquise Blair. First and foremost, it's great to have him back out here. You know, for a kid that's gone through all the stuff he's had to deal with, with getting back healthy and whatnot, I think there's something to commend with the mental toughness, you know, to continue to keep battling back and not turn it in, you know, and to give him credit for that. But he's healthy, he's been explosive and twitchy. He's been looking good. him good And again, if he's healthy, he gives us another dimension. He adds another playmaker that we can have to our defense.

As promised, here is Daryl Taylor, speaking about his new teammate, Uchena Nuoosu.

And I do.

He's been everything, I hope that in a past Russia, you know, and a coverage guy, and I think he's doing everything. And I'm learning from him, you know, he's been here a long, been in the NFL longer than me. So I learn from him every day, you know how to be a professional, you know, how to play the game and how to look for clues and everything, to play fast and, you know, make plays each and every day. So I've been learning a lot for them,

and I'm grateful for it. And we, it's exciting, man. That's all I can say. It's exciting to be here

and, you know, be a starter now and, you know, get what I deserve. Rookie Boyet Mafei is also

joining Taylor as an outside linebacker. Oh, yeah, definitely. One of the outside backers, you know, boy, Maffa, he's definitely a personality guy. Like, he shows it every day, you know, and we love it. We welcome it, you know, and to our environment because that's what we're all about. And we love to see it every day, and that's how our environment is in our locker room, our team meetings and everything and you know it just brings energy to our team adapting to the outside linebacker position in the new system here's what taylor said about his goals for improvement
