0:00.0	Times of darkness are certainly part of our journey in this life. But thank the Lord,
0:12.3	he never leaves us to face the darkness alone. One of the great blessings of the 23rd Psalm
0:18.4	is the promise of the shepherd's presence. Thou art with me. Let's join
0:24.4	Scott Pauley now as he continues this series, The Shepherd of the Shadows. In one of our previous studies, I pointed out to you that Psalm 23 begins in the shepherd's field and ends in the palace.

0:50.3	The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
0:58.5	This is, to me, I think, one of the most precious thoughts in Psalm 23 that, in fact, the Lord
1:06.1	meets us where we are, but praise God, he doesn't leave us there.
1:12.3	You know, you can't beat being a Christian. The Lord comes to live in your house now, that's your heart, and then you get to go
1:18.0	live in his house forever. That's the truth that is revealed to us in Psalm 23. The Lord has come to
1:25.0	us. Aren't you glad the Lord has come to us? We could never get to Him.
1:29.4	We could never get to heaven.
1:31.2	We could never get out of our own conditions.
1:33.7	So the Lord, our shepherd, came to us.
1:36.9	And then the Lord, beginning in verse number one, all the way down to verse number six,
1:41.9	graciously leads us, step by by step through the mountains and the
1:46.6	valleys, through the enemy territory, through every need, and where does he bring us in the end?
1:52.7	He brings us to himself.
1:55.1	Might I say it this way?
1:56.4	All the way to the house.
1:58.2	If we say we're taking something to the house, we mean there there's
2:02.5	completion. It's finished. It's victorious. Well, dear friend, your Lord, your shepherd is going to
