Hey, this is Meredith. We're taking a couple of weeks off from releasing new episodes of The Unfolding,

so this week we wanted to pull one of our favorites from the archives. If you listen to Christian

Radio, you've likely heard the music of Jason Gray. One of the things I love about his music

is that he's not afraid to tackle the hard parts of our faith journey. He's one of the most honest,

authentic artists I've ever met. And especially if you've struggled in your faith at some point,

his story will resonate with you. We're going to be back March 12th with a brand new episode.

For now, enjoy this one from the archives. I really did not want to lose my faith. It just was slipping away, and it didn't seem like there was anything I could do.

I was just crowned out for help all the time.

And so often it just seemed like I was just hearing a dial tone on the other side.

Hi, this is Meredith Foster. Jason Gray is a singer and songwriter who is known for tackling deep theological truths.

He does it in a way that's so relatable.

In fact, it makes you feel like he knows exactly what you're going through. He built his life and a very

successful career on his faith. But then he walked through an experience so painful and so lonely,

the foundation of faith began to crumble. Here's Jason. As a fan, we often go to concerts and listen to people on the radio and for better for worse there is

this assumption that you've got it all together and we have this tendency to want to go if i could

just have a life like them yes and then i heard uh your song not right now on the radio thought, whoever wrote this, and I even went to look to see if you wrote it or whoever wrote this, this came out of a really deeply, a personal place of what sounded to me like disappointment.
