Welcome to the Almost Awakened podcast. I am one of your host, Teresa Hobbs, and this is Bill Areal,

someone you all know and love. And today we're going to be covering part two of from obedience to

integrity. Last, last episode we covered part one, which we talked about how obedience was used to

manipulate and control and how it was used to

disconnect people from their own sense of self identity and ability to sense for themselves

what is true. So today we are going to be talking about how to move through that liminal space. We talked about

that last week, that kind of space of the void when we step away from a high demand fundamentalist

religion or a high control system. And we start to try to find our own center and our own sense

of self-connection and self-direction. So this is going to be the topic today, and we're going to just go ahead and get started.

Before we do, is there anything you'd like to add to this bill?

We talked last week, last episode about how difficult it is to grow up in a system,

an unhealthy family system or an unhealthy religious

system. And it sets all of your expectations. It tells you how to interpret the world. And so it

really is scary. It is daunting. It is overwhelming to step away from that into a new world where you say, I'm not going to, I'm no longer

going to trust that lens.

I'm now going to look all around this beautiful world for what reality is and to start

to lean into that.

And so folks, we just were given a lot of grace to you.

And I certainly needed a lot of it when I went
