0:06.5	A couple weeks ago we had the story of Anna Davis Ables fight to get her insurance company to pay for a test she got because she and her dock thought she might have COVID-19.
0:16.1	And in public the company was saying, we will pay for this kind of stuff 100%.
0:21.6	But they told Anna, nah, this 500 bucks and change, it's on you.
0:26.5	At least that's what they said until reporters got involved.
0:29.7	I asked folks who'd had a similar experience to get in touch. What I got was a note from a woman who said
0:35.5	she's worked for a big insurance company for decades. Her note said, I just finished
0:41.2	listening to this episode and I have to say that I am shocked.
0:46.4	I understand Anna's frustration with what happens. Believe me, I would be screaming from the
0:50.9	rooftops if it were me.
0:53.2	She also said, I have listened to all the episodes in this podcast, and there are times I come
0:58.2	away feeling bad working for the insurance company.
1:01.6	And she had some advice for all of us based on things she's learned
1:04.5	from working for the insurance company. So I called her up. In her note she
1:10.0	said I could use her full name as long as it was clear she didn't speak for the company but when I asked
1:14.6	her what she did there she hesitated a little bit and then she was like I investigate
1:19.6	health care frog oh wow so you want to pick my brain is what you want to do. Yeah right yeah absolutely absolutely yes. We were on the phone for an hour. I'm not going to use her full name. Just going to call her Kim. Get ready for some highlights.
