In Queens, a beautiful memorial for one of New York City's bravest who died doing what he loved.

Family and friends gathered to say their final goodbyes to fallen FDNY firefighter Patrick Brady.

The 11-year veteran of the department died a week ago while battling a fire in Brooklyn.

Loved ones say Brady was someone who made everyone feel

like they were the only one.

As you can imagine, this was an incredibly painful day

for the FDNY.

The oceanfront community of Bell Harbor Queen

saw a sea of blue in its streets and bright red letters

emanating sorrow.

A fire engine quietly rolled toward the church. New York's bravest were silent,

except for the procession that led the flag-draped casket of Patrick D. Brady to his final resting place.

Today, we entrust our brother Patrick to the God who gave him to us.

It was a painful goodbye for his wife, for his band of brothers and sisters in the FDNY,

and for his own firefighter family, brothers, uncles and cousins who have given so much to the job.

You love Rockaway as much as Pat did. It's easy to see why he treated everyone like family.

When he crossed that bridge, he was home.

Serving as a bartender on his off time, loved ones say Brady had a knack for bringing everyone together.
