She's wearing a Quest 3 headset exploring Horizon Worlds, Meta's virtual reality social. He's is there's little like paper birds flying around and so there's like some stuff

that's moving around even though like there's no one here and I think that makes it

feel like less empty than it used to because before there was just like nothing and it did feel very empty.

As you can probably tell it's not Megan's first time in Horizon Worlds.

She first tried it out in October 2022, a little less than a year after Horizon Worlds launched widely in the US.

So I was excited to hear about what was different.

She said, some things were new, like an updated home screen and a VR concert by musician Doja Cat.

Okay, well this is definitely new and I have to give them props because this is like, I think the coolest thing that I've seen in here so far.

Other things though were pretty familiar, like how she struggled to find other people on the platform,

though, granted, it was 2 p.m. on a Thursday.

Hello. Since its 2021 name change, Meta has thrown a lot into developing the Metaverse,

years of work and some 50 billion dollars.

And as Megan points out, there have been improvements.

But is it enough to achieve Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg's

vision of an immersive embodied internet, one that transforms how people interact online?

The next platform in medium will be even more immersive.
