Good morning. Again.

So for the practice note, I talked about this idea or introduced the idea of meditation

is not about getting rid of our thoughts, but it's about our relationship to thoughts.

Noticing the relationship we have, the role that they have in our lives.

And there's this way in which we tend to get tangled up in them.

I know I have certainly spent quite a bit, many, many hours on the meditation cushion, just thinking, thinking, thinking,

thinking, having the idea that I'm meditating, but I'm just thinking, thinking, thinking.

And then there's the thoughts, oh, wait, Diana, you're supposed to be meditating.

Don't be thinking.

And then there's this conflict that shows up with this idea that, oh, yeah, I'm not supposed

to be thinking.

Dana, you'll never be a good meditator as long as you're thinking.

And then the whole meditation session just ends up some version of this.

Early in my practice, that's kind of how things went.

Thinking and then thinking I shouldn't be thinking.

And that's how it was.

But there's this way in which if we can find a way in which maybe to step back, to disentangle this thinking,

and one way we can do that is what I offered at the practice discussion, is just to drop in this question.

I wonder what the next thought will be. And just asking that question, it's just

like this movement of the heart and mind of bringing some curiosity. I wonder what the next
