The day has come my, because this is one.

There are moments in your life and in your career when you can no longer unsee what you've seen. When you stood at the bedside, when you followed the protocols, when you've done everything

by the book, and still watched people suffer, decline, or slip through the cracks.

You start to ask questions.

You start to realize that what we call health care in this country isn't always about health,

and too often it's not even about care.

We have built a system that excels in acute intervention,

but fails miserably in prevention, in chronic illness, and in truly seeing the whole person. Take cancer, for example. We have a standard of care

that revolves around chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery. And while those interventions may have

their place for some, we rarely stop to ask what else is possible?

What is driving the disease in the first place? Or how do we support the body, not just attack it?

Instead, patients are often rushed into decisions, overwhelmed, under-informed, and left

navigating one of the most terrifying diagnoses of their lives, largely alone.
