0:52.2	week or not but we were discussing the new
0:55.2	evangelization based upon Paul's own example in Act 17 on the aeropagus
1:01.1	where he connects an altar and a poem, both originating with epimenides.
1:07.3	To show how Paul was steeped not only in the sacred scripture of ancient Israel, but also in the best of the secular sources that he
1:15.1	could use to reach the intellectuals there that he met on the Ariopagus in Athens.
1:21.8	Today I'd like to look at the second prong of Paul's approach to
1:25.3	evangelization. The first prong is doing your intellectual homework, preparing
1:30.5	to reach those who might not know your own religious tradition, who might not share
1:35.9	sacred scripture.
1:37.5	Today I would like to look at something more basic, but something every bit is fundamental
1:42.3	and maybe more.
1:43.5	And that is friendship.
1:45.5	I'd like to focus in particular on how God providentially brought about
1:50.1	a friendship between St Paul on the one hand and St Luke on the other
1:55.0	that I didn't discover until I watched this movie that came out about three or four years
1:59.5	ago entitled Paul Apostle of Christ.
