Summary

It's another Friday Q&A but this week's is very much focussed on the chaotic and sometimes overwhelming festive period!

Georgia & Zoe are on hand to answer all your questions about dealing with this full-on time of year. We look at handling difficult family dynamics, how to get out of social events when you'd prefer to chill out, and noticing how it's nearly always the mum's doing the Christmas shopping and wrapping...all we want for Christmas is to be the Dad for a day!

0:10.8

G and I, we have seen a lot. We really have. Each week, we'll be joined by some famous faces and

experts and we'll chat about the brands and products that have saved us along the way.

0:38.2

So, am I speaking to The Grinch? Or am I speaking to Mother Christmas? Where are you at?

0:43.5

I'm not The Grinch. I'm Mother Christmas. Me too. Yeah, I love it. I mean, you know, actually, I do love it.

0:51.3

I do love it. At this stage, we usually get to the 15th and I don't anymore.

0:56.1

I tell you what I am developing, though, is severe heart palpitations and anxiety.

1:01.3

And that is because of, I feel like there is so much expectation and pressure on us at this time of year.

1:09.0

So not only do we all have full-time jobs as parents,

1:13.0

full-time jobs as like keeping the home and, you know, making sure the kids get to school

1:17.8

and they're, you know, the right uniform and Christmas jumpers and stuff for the nativity,

1:21.8

learning all this. And then you chuck on having to essentially make Christmas. It's like, it's another full-time job. So I'm finding that side of it quite kind of like, shit, have I done this? And every time I write a to do list, and actually one of the schoolmen said this to me, she was like, I sat down and wrote my to do list and I actually brought on more anxiety because I realized how much stuff I have to get done in the next 10 days, two weeks. Yeah, I know.

1:44.4

Well, I was just saying to you, I thought I was really organized with Christmas presents.

1:49.2

And then I just wrote a list and I've still got 13 people to buy four.

1:52.8

And that's actually the minimum because I'm not including James's sisters and their partners.

1:57.4

So actually that's another nine on top.

2:00.3

So that's like 22? 22 more people should. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Yeah, that is, that's the reality. I think that we should probably all get to, like obviously buy for the, like your parents and who, you know, your kids or whatever, but like anybody else, I'm just saying to, do you know what, we're not going to do presents this year. And I think that's actually quite a nice thing to say for me. No, I think so because you're actually giving someone the gift of time by saying, let's not do presents. You're actually gifting them some time back. That is essentially what you're doing. I do it with my friends.

2:34.9

Like we've done that for the last, I don't know, it's been quite a few years. I want to say it's

2:38.7

probably been nine years that we have decided to not buy each other things anymore.

2:44.1

No. Because it's just an added thing to do. But also, like I'm focusing on gifts, but I'm hosting
