I'm Jamie Erdog, Kyle Brandt, Peter Schrager, Jason McCordy. We have been so locked in on the draft and getting to know the prospects and how they fit and where they might go that we've got to catch back up on some other things that are happening with current players and their current contract situations. Yeah, indeed. There's always news going on in the NFL, not just a draft, players are still

there and there's stuff to talk about. Exactly. Time for the lead block. All right, after

franchise tagging Saquan Barkley, there's been no movement on a long-term contract between the

Giants and their star running back. It was a big deal because on the same day, they signed Daniel

Jones to his long-term deal and then tagged Barclay. Now, General Manager Joe Shane said yesterday that he has not discussed a new deal with Saquan and it's been a couple weeks since they've chatted at all. So we haven't been with with Sequan. Like, are you guys still negotiating all within that here at the moment? No, nothing's changed since we talked whatever that was, three weeks ago, four weeks ago.

With Sequin, do you have a, you know, a next contract offer in your head that you would, you know...

I'm just going to get through the draft right now. Again, my focus right now is solely on that.

During this process, have you spoken directly with Sequin so that he knows... Nothing's changed since we talked to the owner's meetings. I mean, we, I haven't, I haven't, there's nothing new. I haven't talked to him. Do you remain optimistic that Sequin will be on the field for you at the start of this season? From the outside looking in, it doesn't seem like there's an obvious resolution based on where the two sides have been so far. Yeah, you have to ask him. I'm not sure. I don't know what his plan is. I haven't talked to him in probably three weeks. Sequod, if you're listening, come on to a breakfast table. People want to hear from you. Joe Shane sounds like he wants to chat with you. Maybe you want to come on. We can talk about your current state of affairs and the Giants. A little concerning when you hear that and just see the fact that nothing has changed. It was franchise tagged in early March. Jason, how do you unpack this? I think it's kind of as expected right now when you talk about the state of affairs. Sequin Barclay was franchise tag. I think this has kind of become the process

of being franchise tag. You don't show up to the off-season workouts. You don't sign the tag early. You don't kind of give the team that luxury of knowing and being confident that, all right, I'm going to be there. Evering Ingram was tagged in Jacksonville. Josh Jacobs was tagged with the Raiders. and obviously we've talked about Lamar Jackson at length being tagged.

None have signed the franchise tag. I don't think any of them

are at offseason workouts. This stuff is all optional right now. You do not have to be there.

It is not mandatory. Sequan Barkley right now, I'm sure is somewhere working out, getting

ready for the upcoming season.

I think that's the most important part right now.

I think when it comes down to it, I don't think Sequan is willing to sit out the entire season and not show up and say,
