Thank you for joining me for another Friday Pray Together episode, friends.

I'm so thankful that you're here.

Prayer is powerful and prayer makes a difference.

I've seen it in my own experience just in the last few weeks with prayers.

My family and morning mindset listeners have been praying for my in-laws who are both

recovered from COVID,

and my father-in-law is almost out of the hospital with some other conditions that were unrelated,

but we are so grateful for your prayers and so grateful for the power and the change that comes about

through prayer. I was thinking about prayer today and some passages that might encourage us in our prayers

as we look at the requests that have been submitted today.

And first off, I wanted to think of 1. John 5, verses 14 through 15, where the Apostle John

writes, this is the confidence that we have toward Him, meaning God, that if we ask anything according

to His will, he hears us.

And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the request

that we have asked of Him.

So not only is this verse telling us we can have confidence at prayer,

it's telling us exactly how that confidence is possible. It's possible because when we align

our hearts with the heart of God and we pray the kinds of things he wants to do in the world,

then he not only hears us, but he gives us the answer

to those requests through his divine activity and action. That's the confidence we have toward him.

It's called asking according to the will of God. Now, you may say, I don't really know what the

will of God is in certain
