Mano family's hitting the road so a week off. All right I'll be back on the

14th. Today though this one starts right now. And we always start with the top story. Let's check back in

with the devastation brought by Hurricane Helene. It's crazy sadly

yesterday the death toll surpassed 200.

Two 20 is the latest number this morning and more than half of those were in North

Carolina and unfortunately hundreds are still missing. I also read that at least 1 million customers

are still without power still and thousands don't have running water. President

Biden and Vice President Harris did end up visiting while there the president called the

storm one of historic proportions and directed 1,000 active duty troops to support

the North Carolina National Guard. Again this morning up in our

Instagram stories at First Thing Pod. I'm going to link a list of ways to help if

you would like to look at that at First Thing Pod. It's going up in the

stories. All right, okay, on to sports in baseball.

The wild card games ended yesterday and the Divisional Series games are set.

The Tigers are going to play the Guardians and the Royals will play the

Yankees that's in the American League. In the National League the Mets will play

the Phillies while the Padres face the Dodgers. It's the first time since 2016 that the Houston Astros didn't make the cut.
