Former President Donald Trump has been indicted by a grand jury in New York.

I'm Jeff Pierre. It's Friday, March 31st. Let's get you caught up with

today's seven stories. So what does a Trump indictment actually mean?

He's been charged with at least one crime, but the indictment is sealed,

so we don't know what he's been charged with yet.

The panel had been hearing evidence about Trump's role in

hush money paid to an adult film star during his 2016 presidential campaign.

He's the first person in US history to serve as president and then be charged with a crime.

So this is uncharted territory.

Trump is expected to turn himself in and appear in court in New York on Tuesday afternoon.

As for his 2024 presidential campaign he can

still run even if convicted.

Number two, Finland took a big step toward joining the NATO military alliance. Turkey's parliament voted to approve Finland's membership bid yesterday. This was the last major

roadblock. The move would double NATO's land border with Russia. In other news

from Russia, an American journalist was arrested on Wednesday. Russia accused Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gerskovic of spying.

The White House called those charges ridiculous. Number three severe storms are expected today across the Central U.S.

The forecast is for thunderstorms, destructive winds. the Wisconsin, including some of the same areas hit by last Friday's deadly tornadoes.

The risk is especially high for parts of Tennessee, Arkansas, Iowa, and Illinois.

Number four, millions of people will start losing Medicaid coverage tomorrow. That's because another pandemic-era policy is going away.
