We begin with that breaking news overnight. The deal to end the government shutdown. The Senate

approval to build a funded Department of Homeland Security, including

paychecks for TSA officers. Seeing political correspondent Rachel Scott is at the White House with

the latest. Good morning, Rachel. Michael, good morning to you. And this was a rare overnight vote

on Capitol Hill after 42 days of gridlock here in Washington and chaos at airports across the country.

The Senate has now passed a bill

to fund most of the Department of Homeland Security and bring an end to this partial government shutdown.

The bills have meted his passed. In the dead of the night, the Senate passing a bill to end this partial government

shutdown as long lines stretch at airports across the country. Lawmakers reaching a deal to fund most of the

Department of Homeland Security but exclude money for ICE and parts of border patrol.

Democrats held firm in our opposition that Donald Trump's rogue and deadly militia should not get more funding without serious reforms, and we will continue to fight for those reforms.

But the bill ultimately passing without the reforms Democrats spent weeks demanding,
