four twenty five years former Detroit mayor quamical patrick has had surgery on his bad knee but

still remains in custody

in court sentencing on a corruption conviction.

Defense attorney Howard Gerwitz tells the free press that Kilpatrick is recuperating from the procedure.

Gerwitz had filed a brief asking a u s district court of appeals

judge to release co patrick for medical treatment

kilpatrick said he needed surgery for a torn tendon and other leg injuries

he was convicted in march of racketeering fraud and tax crimes.

He was convinced he couldn't get good treatment while he was behind bars.

And so he sought that treatment elsewhere. And they let it did that treatment elsewhere
