Yesterday, Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced that she will create a select committee to further

investigate the deadly January 6th attack at the Capitol.

She did not name the chair of the panel or the Democratic lawmakers that she plans to

tap for the committee.

Though she did comment that she hopes House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy will appoint

responsible people on the Republican side.

This announcement came on the same day that the first defendant from the Capitol riot

was officially sentenced.

A 49-year-old Indiana resident named Anna Morgan Lloyd pleaded guilty to parading,

picketing, or demonstrating in Capitol buildings.

She was given no jail time, but was sentenced to serve 36 months probation and to perform

120 hours of community service and paid $500 in restitution for damaging court.

Seriously, what is that even going to cover, replacing the extra turtle shell that Mitch

McConnell has in his office?

A group of senators, five Democrats and five Republicans, has come together and finally

forged an infrastructure agreement with the Biden administration that will create millions

of American jobs.

The plan is expected to increase federal spending by nearly $600 billion for new investments

in roads, broadband, internet, electric utilities, and other projects.
