today's podcast. As we delve into a brand new chapter, we are in Matthew 26. I have loved the book of Matthew,

and we've been talking specifically about the fact that Jesus is king. And Matthew wrote this

gospel really for the purpose of convincing Jews, that Jesus indeed is the Messiah.

He is the Messiah that they missed when he came that first time, but he's coming again.

We talked about that now for two full chapters, and he'll come in the brightness of his glory,

and he will sit upon his throne in Jerusalem.

So we're seeing the rejected king, we're seeing the coming king, and now in verses 26 through

28, we're really wrapping up the story of how Jesus is rejected by his own.

Remember in John chapter one, he came unto his own,

and his own received him not.

But as many as received him,

to them gave He power to become the sons of God,

even to them that believe on his name.

So Matthew 26, verse number one, it came to pass.

When Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said under his disciples. So the Olivet

discourse is over. All the predictive and prophetic message of Jesus has now ended,
