Catherine Ceeley, what can you tell us about Conrad Roy?

Conrad Roy was an 18-year-old. He lived in Southeast Massachusetts. He worked on a tugboat with his father.

I am who I am. I need to be comfortable with my skin.

In order to be comfortable with my skin, I have to be happy with myself, who I am. Conrad Henry Roy III on an introvert.

I didn't really connect with people in high school. I had a hard time with my friends. I just felt alone. I was disconnected from everyone else.

I feel like I was a negative impact on my self-esteem and the way I feel about things.

And he suffered from depression, a lot of anxiety, and in 2014 he killed himself.

So why is there a trial going on right now that revolves around him?

Well, he had a very close friend named Michelle Carter, who was 17 at the time.

She called herself his girlfriend and her boyfriend, although he didn't really buy into that.

But nonetheless, they were very close. And she bought into his plan to kill himself. And she, by the end, was very encouraging of him.

Encouraged him to take his own life.

And how did she even do... how does that even work? How did she do it?

Well, there was a flurry of texts between them on July 12, which is the date that he killed himself.
