You campaigned for it, you fought for it, you voted for it, and now it has arrived.

Change begins now. Voters in Britain ended 14 years of

Conservative Party rule. That's where we're starting the seven from the

Let's get you caught up with today's seven stories.

Britain's Labor Party won a landslide election yesterday.

You just heard from the party's leader, Kir Stommer, at the top of the show.

He's a former lawyer and ran his campaign on the slogan of change.

And now he's Britain's next prime minister.

The election result was the Conservative Party's worst in its nearly 200 year history.

Since winning power in 2010,

the party presided over an astonishing period of instability.

It oversaw the crisis of Brexit, it faced big scandals, and it burned through five different prime ministers.

The Conservatives lost seats to the Center Left Labour Party, but they also lost a lot of votes

to a new anti-immigration party known as Reform UK.

That party is led by Nigel Farage, who just won a seat in Parliament for the first time.

Outgoing Prime Minister Rishi Sunak conceded the race in the early hours of the morning.

Today power will change hands in a peaceful and orderly manner with goodwill on all sides.

That is something that should give us all confidence in our country's stability and future.

The British people have delivered a sobering verdict tonight. There is

much to learn and reflect on and I take responsibility for the loss. By the time you

hear this podcast, Kiek, Kirstamer may have officially taken up his role as Prime Minister.
