And on this date in TV history, it's a big one for me 15 years ago today, breaking bad premiered on AMC personally my fave of all time. I loved it.

And there happens to be breaking bad news this morning. Brian Cranston and Aaron Paul have reunited in a pop corners, Super Bowl commercial as Walt and Jesse from the show.

Okay, okay, let's go. We always jump in with the top story. There's honestly a few top stories today. We'll get to David Crosby and Alec Baldwin in a bit, but we'll start here as predicted.

We hit our debt ceiling yesterday in order to avoid default the US Treasury Department now steps in and does their thing to make sure we can still pay our bills basically buying time for the two sides of the aisle to come up with a solution. They have until June 5th to figure it out.

It's expected that they will eventually reach an agreement to cut some federal spending and raise the debt limit. It's been done almost 80 times since the 1960s, by the way.

So this isn't really a new problem, but there is a lot of hostility between the two parties right now, specifically the new house speaker Kevin McCarthy and President Biden. They've got until June to get it together.

Let's go. Onto sports now. Yes, sports headlines after this weekend. Four teams will remain in that march towards Super Bowl 57. The Jaguars face the chiefs in the early game tomorrow, followed by the giants and Eagles on Sunday. It's the bangles and bills. Then the Cowboys and 49ers. And we just find out that Pete Davidson and Snoop Dogg are going to be the captains of the 2023 pro Bowl. Those games will get started February 2nd on ESPN.

In the world of golf, this is a big one. The new live golf tour, LIV, live. It's backed by Saudi Arabia. You want a revolutionized golf. It's been contentious among golf fans. Anyway, they just reached a television deal to broadcast their tournaments.

Starting next month, the live tournaments will be on the CW until now. They've been streaming and YouTube and Facebook. So this partnership with the CW is big for them.

And lastly, a sad one from the soccer world, Anton Wax of the Charlotte FC just lost his life following a boating accident in Florida. It was 25 years old. His team's owner described him as a quote,

tremendous son, father, partner, and teammate whose joyous approach to life touched everyone he met. On to some entertainment headlines here that the bummer news continues sadly, legendary musician David Crosby passed away at the age of 81. He was a member of Crosby Stills Nation Young as well as this band, The Birds.

Everything turned to turn to turn. There is a season turned to turn. At the time to live in Crapness, under the moon.

But he was an icon truly his family released the statement confirming that he lost his life following a long illness. They said, quote, although he is no longer here with us, his humanity and counsel will continue to guide and inspire us. His legacy will continue to live on through his legendary music.

Rest in peace, David Crosby, the tribute throughout the music world have just been pouring in. Since we're already sad, I've got an update now on Leslie Jordan. He passed away back in October in a car crash, but the cause of death just came out and it wasn't the crash. It was a sudden cardiac dysfunction. He was driving at the time so that obviously caused the crash.

Moving on to the other big story here at the moment, Alex Baldwin broke yesterday that yes, he will face an involuntary manslaughter charge in the fatal shooting of Helena Hutchins 2 charges actually. This happened back in October of 2021 on the set of the movie Rust.

The movie's armorer will also be charged. All along, Alex has been adamant that he did not pull the trigger and according to his turn, he feels, quote, blindsided by yesterday's decision.

If convicted, this isn't a conviction. He's just being charged at this point, but he could potentially face up to five years in prison. The charges will be formally filed for the end of the month.
