Let's get you caught up with today's seven stories.

Number one. A judge paused the Trump administration's federal worker buyout program.

If you work for the government and were panicking before last night's deferred resignation deadline,

you have a couple extra days to figure it out. A reminder, deferred resignation is a program from

President Donald Trump and his billionaire advisor Elon Musk. It's an offer to federal workers to

quit now and keep their pay through September.

It's a legally dubious plan.

But as of yesterday, the Post is reporting that around 50,000 people had taken the plunge.

Unions representing federal workers filed a lawsuit to delay yesterday's deadline, and a judge granted a temporary pause. Workers now have until

the end of Monday to decide, and there will be another court hearing that afternoon. The abrupt change

has further plunged federal workers into limbo, and the effects of the administration's sweeping

cuts to government are already being felt in the private sector.

Some companies and nonprofits are starting to lay off workers in the wake of funding freezes.

Economists say there could be a wave of job losses in the coming weeks.
