One of the most famous verses in the entire Christmas story is the praise that was offered by

the heavenly host when they said, glory to God in the highest and on earth, peace, goodwill toward men. I think we ended the episode

yesterday talking about peace. So when you think about peace in the Bible, really you think about

peace from three different standpoints. Number one, you think about peace that we can have with God.

So the Bible says in Roman chapter 5, therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God

through our Lord Jesus Christ. So the peace that we can have with God is the peace that comes

when we put our faith and trust in the finished work of Jesus. So peace with God is the peace that comes when we put our faith and trust in the finished work of

Jesus. So peace with God. I hope that every listener today has trusted Christ as his personal

Savior. You have peace with God. Then there's something that we call the peace of God. In Philippians

Chapter 4, the peace of God that passes all understanding.

That's a disposition that we can have in our heart as believers, realizing that God is in control,

realizing that God sometimes does not give us comfortable circumstances or a comfortable journey in this life, but he gives us peace

that settled sense on the inside, that he's in charge, that he has a plan, that we can trust

him. It's that inexplicable disposition that believers can have who trust the Lord. So peace with God. And then there is

peace on earth. Peace on earth. Now, obviously in Luke chapter 2 and verse 14, there was peace on earth

because the prince of peace was on earth. Now, can we honestly say that today there's peace on earth? No, there are, there are

wars and rumors of wars and there's unrest and there's argument and there's immorality and
