December 16th, 2022. The Core 4, the four headlines you need to know. For the first time since 2009, year-over-year death rates in America have gone down.

According to early data, there was a 3% drop in deaths between 2021 and 2022.

Obviously, the year isn't over yet, but the trend should hold true.

2021 was the deadliest year on record in the United States, and obviously, that had a lot to do with the pandemic.

But here's something to think about.

Even without the pandemic pushing the number higher in 2020 and 2021, the death rate in America has been climbing pretty steadily, and a statistic like that

may cause panic until you realize the cause. The death rate has gone up almost every year in
