Summary

Ephesians 6:16 It is not what is true that will help me; it is what I *believe* about that truth that will ultimately help me. Faith is the principle by which all believers are to live (Rom. 1:17). It is the only way by which to please God, and it is the only reliable evidence of what we claim is true.

0:56.9	here in the Book of Ephesians. We're right down to the final few verses of chapter number six,
1:03.5	which is the last chapter, and still kind of not knowing where I'm going to go next, but probably
1:09.2	an Old Testament book. So if you have some suggestions, let me know.
1:13.6	But for now, we're right here in Ephesians 6 and verse number 16,
1:20.6	talking about spiritual armor, standing for God, fighting that spiritual battle,
1:26.6	being soldiers of the Lord.
1:29.5	And here we are in verse number 16, where the Bible says,
1:33.7	Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith, with this shield,
1:41.4	ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked, flaming arrows,
1:48.8	is the way we would say that today, of the wicked. So a couple things. First of all, we see a
1:55.6	reiteration of the battle. We're fighting against the wicked. And the wicked is, make, make no mistake about it.
2:02.3	The devil does not like you. His forces are not trying to help you. Ultimately, he comes to
2:09.1	steal and to kill and to destroy. And regardless of what he promises you, regardless of what he
2:15.1	the kingdoms of the world that he shows you, regardless of how good it tastes or how appealing it looks, the devil is a liar.
2:25.5	So we've talked about the importance of truth. You know, what do we know to be true about ourselves, about our God?
