Just over a year ago, President Trump signed an executive order stating that the federal education bureaucracy is not working and instructing Education Secretary Linda McMahon to take

all necessary steps to facilitate the closure of the Department of Education and return

education authority to the states while continuing to ensure the effective

and uninterrupted delivery of services, programs, and benefits on which Americans rely.

Carrie Ingram joins me today to discuss the actions taken since then to scale back the federal

role in education. We also talk about the Education Freedom Tax Credit, Federal Scholarship Tax Credit,

as we often refer to it on this podcast.

29 states have opted in.

We talk about why all 50 states should participate.

Carrie Ingram is a senior fellow at Discovery Institute and director of the Institute's American Center for Transforming Education.

She's also a senior fellow at
