Hey there, my friends. I wonder what comes to your mind when you hear the word freedom.

Do you think of the opportunity to do as you please? To be free of limitations and constraints?

Well, if that's how you think about freedom,

I'm going to challenge you to think a little bit differently

because the Bible teaches us that true freedom

is to be free from the power of sin

so that we can then serve God.

We're going to be looking at that in 1. Peter chapter 2 today, verses 16 and 17.

Okay, 1st Peter 2, 16 through 17. Peter says this,

live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover up for evil, but living as servants of God.

Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor.

What Peter is telling us here is that because we have received forgiveness from our sins from Jesus

Christ, we are now people who are free of the bondage of sin. And he's saying that freedom sets us
