into today. And for once, we got some good news to kick us off. And I know that's like, oh, wow, good news. Yes, I know, child. On a day ending in why in America, there is some good news and it's policy related news. Now, those of you who have been following me for any length of time, you know that I got two kids.

Shout out to the college freshman and to my seventh grader because gaps in age are things. So but what we realize

early on with having our first child was that having children is its own form of birth control when it

comes to the economy of having children because kids are expensive as hail. They eat you out

a house and home and their clothes cost and absorbent amounts.

They're constantly growing.

But the largest expense that we had early on for our kids was child care.

Child care was extraordinarily expensive.

Now, if you didn't mind sending your kids to, you know, grandma up the street who was just going to make sure that they didn't burn the house down or poke their eyes out then that was obviously going to be much more affordable but if you wanted an actual

preschool or daycare type of experience it was very very different and in new mexico they have realized

that honey one of the best things we can do for families is to make child care free do you know how many

thousands of dollars we could have saved in the favors household?

Had child care been free in New York City?

Well, let's focus on New Mexico because this program, which we've actually talked about before on my show,

the Larry Daniel Favor's show on Sirius Xems Urban View Channel 126.

New Mexico has been grappling with how to make child care free for more and more people, really since before the days of the pandemic. And now they're actually doing it. Starting in November of this year, New Mexico is going to be the first state in the nation that will be giving free child care to all of the residents regardless of income. And I know that last part kind of weirds people out. Like, if you rich, why are you doing free need free child care? Like you why are you taking up slots for other people? Here's the thing.

If you make it available to everyone regardless of income, you're more likely to exceed a universal
