and the conquest of the Inca Empire. I want to start by saying, my voice is a little hoarse

today. So if I sound a little ragged, you are not wrong.

Otherwise, I have a couple of observations for you before we start.

First, if you haven't noticed, this series is not much of an exploration story.

It is a war story, not unlike the series on Cortez and the Aztecs.

I mean, there's some exploring

and firsts involved, but in reality, this is a big action flick. Second, today's episode

features a shift in focus, as Francisco Pizarro is more of a side character in this story. Instead,

we're going to talk a lot about Pizarro's half-brothers, Juan, Gonzalo, and

Hernando, as well as Diego de Almagro, Manco Inca, and others.
