So welcome to our rosary meditation. Let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

December 3rd is the Feast of St. Francis Xavier, one of the greatest missionaries in the history of Christianity. Born in the castle of Xavier, Spain in 1506,

he studied in Paris where he was befriended by St. Ignatius of Loyola. Then St. Francis Xavier,

St. Peter Faber, and four other companions, seven friends total with Ignatius at the head, they became the company of Jesus, the Jesuits.

And the Jesuits became some of the greatest missionaries, some of the greatest educators in the history of the church.

And it all started with this friendship, friendship with Jesus, and then friendship with one another.

It all begins with friendship.

Now, in our world, I think the great danger we're facing is isolation and

loneliness. We've allowed the devil to steal from us our greatest asset, friendship. It is by

friendship that we grow in faith and holiness, and it's by collaboration in friendship

with others that we become capable of doing more than we can do on our own.

We need to be inspired by St. Ignatius of Loyola, because he personally invested in Francis Xavier way before Francis

was even interested in the faith, but he persisted. He persevered in friendship with Francis Xavier.

Took personal responsibility for him.

And Francis Xavier went out and changed the world, bringing the faith to India and to Japan. Who are the handful of people that you will invest in, become deep
