We're keen now on Simon's experience of this unusual weather pattern.

We're told moving across the northern Mediterranean basin, Spain, very hot, and the Spanish elections

took place in glistening sweat on skin as people voted for a stalemate.

Greece, very hot wildfires, in between Italy, very hot with torrential rainstorms sweeping

through the north of Italy.

Simon is in the middle of all of this.

The question is, why has the South of France been a destination for English gentlemen such

as Simon?

For about 150 years, here's a clue.

It is absolutely delightful.

At a little while back, we had some very, very hot days of well over a hundred, and that

is well in the past now.

Today, it's the mid-70s, and the highest it's going to be for the next week and a half

is in the high 80s, which is a delightful range of temperature.
