This is CBSI in the world. I'm John Batser. To ascertain the South of France, Simon Constable

reporting for barons, Wall Street Journal and other distinguished publications. But first,

Simon, the last we knew of your adventures in the South of France was that you were taking a

mandatory French class, and you were worried about the exam in the morning. How did you do?

Good evening to you, Simon. Good evening to you, John. I am shocked. Miracles do happen,

and what happened to me, I passed this test. It was rather surprised that there was listening,

that was reading, and then answering questions, and it was writing, and then there was a conversation,

you know, oral conversation in French back and forth. On the first bit of the listening,

I got nothing right. On the second bit of the listening, and then pretty much everything else,

I got 100%, except with a conversational stir, because I kept humbling on my tongue.

Anyway, I passed. I was very happy, and I went out and had an exceptionally large beer,

very, very happy, and I'm really, really surprised.

What does this mean? You can stay? You had to pass the test in order to be a,

you're an Englishman in France. You're not now a Frenchman, is that correct?

I'm not now a Frenchman, no. This was the very basic

introductory French lesson test, and I've got that. It's called A1, and I got that. I can check

that box, it means I can now go to A2, if I so choose, and having the A2 is very useful,
