reporting for Wall Street Journal Barron's and other distinguished publications. We begin with the climate.

Here in southern New England, we've gone from four inches of snow very early in the season,

to rain in 60 degrees in a few days. How is it with you, Simon? Good day.

Good day to you, John. It's an interesting combination here. Woke up 33 Fahrenheit, which is nippy,

especially when you're getting up from nice cozy bed into the cold, it's gone up to 48 which is still not exactly

warm warm but it's better than the alternative we've had some sunny patches today and some cloudy

patches overall i'd say it's pretty good no rain that's really nice not to have rain today hunting season

is it still on and have you seen the boars running? Yes. My wife and I were

out walking past a field full of cows, very large cows, aquitaine blondes. These are very big and

beautiful beasts. And partway through walking past that, a group of about 12 boars some big some little

started running across the field and then suddenly stopped and readjusted their formation

and then scarpered away from the cows which were very big and a little bit scary if if a fight

was going to be going to be fought between the two packs,

i.e. the herd of cows and the bull and these wild boar. The wild boar were beautiful, really, really beautiful.

And it was really sweet seeing them run off and avoiding conflict. So I am pretty sure there will be a number of locals going around trying to find out where they live

so that they can go hunting for maybe one of them, either today or over the weekend.

Confessed Simon, you came back and ratted them out, didn't you?

Well, I told one of them anyway, yes. I did, I did wrap them out to one of them. And the gentleman

seemed very, very happy going off to there, but he didn't seem to identify where they were. So maybe

he wasn't going to be as happy as he could have been putting on his wellington getting the
