Today our guest is Fran Liebowitz, Fran found fame as a writer in the 1970s when she started

writing movie reviews and magazine columns.

She's the author of two essay collections chronicling her observations of New York and

the people around her.

After the success of her books, she later became a regular guest on late-night talk shows

in the 90s and is also famous for her TV and movie roles.

This year she got an Emmy nomination for her second documentary, Pretend It's a City,

which she made with her friend Martin Scorsese.
