Let's dive into everything baseball related from Sunday, June 1st.

We'll start it off as always with the transactions, injuries, news and notes from around

the league, starting it off with the bad news as outfielder Dalton Varsho was placed on the

10-day IL with a hamstring strain. Davis Schneider was recalled from the miners in a corresponding

move. And for a short time, he'll be on the short side of a second base platoon, shifting

Ernie Clement to first base against righties, Vladimir Greer Jr. to DH, Springer to right field,

George Springer, that is, and Alan Rodin to the bench who will be filling in for Varsho in right field against right-handed pitchers for the time being.

Our next aisle placement involves starting pitcher Nathan Eilvaldi, who was placed on the 15-day

IL with a posterior elbow inflammation, a posterior with posterior elbow inflammation.

Eelvaldi almost avoided an IEL stint as he was initially diagnosed with triceps inflammation.

So fortunately, EOvaldi, or actually, unfortunately, Eilvaldi will head to the IL with elbow inflammation.

There is no structural damage, and this seems sort of preventative.

So I think Eilvaldi is ultimately going to be fine, but he's probably going to be out for

more than the minimum couple of weeks.

It looks like Kumar Rocker is expected to replace Yovaldi in the rotation, returning from

the 15-day IEL to start Wednesday in Tampa Bay.
